Supporting More Able Pupils and Students
Saint Cecilia’s is committed to the equality of opportunity for all. Every learner, regardless of ability, has the right to be challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
Meeting the needs of More Able pupils and students ensures they remain engaged and continue to progress. By raising expectations and achievement for these pupils and students, we help drive success across the school.
Our enrichment programme for More Able pupils and students provides support in three key areas: high-quality teaching, educational opportunities beyond the classroom and social and emotional well-being.
All More Able pupils are invited to take part in tailored sessions, expanding their learning beyond the curriculum. These include university visits, well-being workshops, study skills sessions, competitions and discovery lessons led by staff.
For Sixth Form students planning their next steps, we curate a lecture list. Students must organise attendance themselves and inform their parent/carer.
The More Able programme is led by Mr Andy Gilespie and Ms Sarah Wood.
