Saint Cecilia’s Make Change Happen with Citizens UK
Saint Cecilia’s pupils and students came together to make real change happen in Wandsworth! South Thames College hosted the Citizens UK pre-local election and Councillor Aled Richard-Jones and Councillor Simon Hogg listened to their stories and their asks and committed to consider every single ask from the living wage, living hours to housing in Wandsworth.
Kayden P-S (Year 13), Amelie G (Year 12) and Angel G (Year 10) were co-chairs, presenting the key asks alongside South Thames College students. They were confident, focused and chaired the event brilliantly. Dominic C (Year 12) acted as time keeper for the evening and he rang the bell to keep our politicians’ speeches in check! He was excellent. Louis K (Year 9), Sasha N (Year 9) and Seb R-F (Year 13) provided fantastic jazz music, which stunned guests (who thought they were a professional band!) and set the tone for the evening.
