‘High School Musical’ Backdrop and Scenery

A huge thank you to the pupils and students who helped Mrs Yulia Toneva and me with designing and painting the ‘High School Musical’ backdrop. The scale of the backdrop is immense - it is the size of the entire drama room floor! Designing, painting and adding the detail needed, and for it to look impressive, is a big undertaking. Pupils and students were so motivated to get 'stuck in'; nothing was too much trouble. The design was led by our lovely Year 12 students Marria K, Ruby H, Beth D and Antonija P, so a big thank you for their enthusiasm! 

It was also lovely to see Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 pupils working alongside Year 12, all supporting each other in this creative endeavour. All will be named in the programme as Stage Designers. Our current Year 13 student, Katrina S, was Lead Designer last year and has gained a prestigious place on a theatre set design degree course, so who knows where it might lead some of our artists in the future!
