Curriculum Offer

The Sixth Form at Saint Cecilia’s benefit from an average class size of 16 students. Students are expected to choose four subjects in Year 12 and continue with three of them into Year 13. All students not taking BTEC courses, take examinations at the end of Year 12. Students will require a minimum of 3 D grades or equivalent to progress into Year 13.

AS/A2 Results 2016:

Our 2016 A level results were very strong with the number of A*- A grades increasing from 53 to 68. Maths performed particularly well with over 45% of grades awarded A*- A and in English the figure was an impressive 40%. There were strong performances in other subjects too; a quarter of grades awarded in each of Art, English Literature, Geography, Physics, Product design and Spanish were A*- A.

Here are some of the students who scooped top grades in their subjects: Alistair and George Goodman, will read Engineering at Cambridge and Chemical Engineering at Bath University, respectively. Josephine Broyd will study Psychology at Cardiff University, Henry Bray and Ella Haycock will start their respective Philosophy and Psychology courses at Durham University. Arsam Mahmood gained a place at Imperial College London to study Medicine and Sam Nicholls will read English and Drama at Exeter University. Other university destinations this year include Nottingham, Sheffield, Bristol and Glasgow.
