Exam results/certificates can only be released to the pupils themselves, or to parents. No pupil is permitted to collect another pupil’s results, and no telephone calls or emails will be made to parents with results information. Any results not collected will be posted at the end of the above dates.
Certificates are normally available from the first week of November from 8am – 4pm – an email or letter will be send to parents with these details nearer the time.
If you have any queries regarding examinations, please contact our Examinations Manager, Miss Sandra Page on email@example.com
GCSE grading system
GCSE courses will now be assessed differently with pupils achieving grades 9-1 rather than A*-G.
A good pass is considered to be a grade 5 and pupils who do not achieve this in English and Mathematics will have to retake the examination until they do, although for the first year, the government will consider a good pass to be grade 4.
Approximately the same proportion of pupils who currently achieve:
• grade A or higher will receive a grade 7 or higher
• grade C or higher will receive a grade 4 or higher.
The school is making a gradual change towards the new grades and until this is complete you will see both old letter grades and new numerical grades on reports.
