All pupils and students are automatically  members of the Library, a bright and welcoming space for quiet and purposeful study and reading for pleasure. Run by qualified, experienced staff, the Library provides a wide range of print and digital resources to support academic progress, inspire curiosity, and promote a love of reading.

The Library is also the venue for special events. Our regular Library Club involves playing word and language games, and practicing language skills. We might play Just a Minute or Spelling Bees, share new books and chat about them, or try making haikus as we begin exploring short fiction forms.

We are thrilled there are so many really keen readers in school, and love hearing their feedback on the books they borrow. Sixth Formers appreciate our silent study periods for serious, ‘eyes down’ working, and we are lucky to have a competent and willing team of adult volunteers and pupil librarians to help with the workload. Wider community support includes close cooperation with Southfields Library who exhibit our children’s Design a Picture Book work and also supplement our stock, and links with seniors’ groups who have enjoyed events hosted as part of students’ Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteering.
