Jamie wins place at the Royal College of Music
Many congratulations to Year 11 music scholar Jamie Salters who has recently joined the prestigious Junior Department of the Royal College of Music.
Jamie is now attending a tailor-made music programme on Saturdays at the RCMJD, alongside his clarinet and saxophone lessons and academic studies at Saint Cecilia’s. This is a fantastic opportunity for Jamie, made possible due to his dedication and hard work, as well as the support he has received from his family and the Music department in school. Jamie commented: “At the RCMJD, I am surrounded by musicians such as finalists of the BBC Young Musicians of the Year – playing with them is amazing and is challenging me a lot.. I am really enjoying it and looking forward to the years ahead.”
The Royal College of Music Junior Department (RCMJD) offers advanced musical training to talented young musicians between the ages of 8 and 18. Founded in 1926, the RCMJD has nurtured distinguished alumni including Julian Lloyd Webber, Michael Collins, Clemency Burton-Hill and John Lill.
