Capability Brown Art Competition & Exhibition

Thank you to all the pupils in school who submitted entries for The Capability Brown Art Competition which culminated with an exhibition at Wimbledon Park in December. The event, which was organised by The Capability Brown Society, attracted over 250 visitors and entries from a number of local schools in Wandsworth and Merton.

Many congratulations to Leo Hopper, in Year 9 who won the age 11-14 category and a cash prize of £50 with his lino print. Ciara Warner, in Year 8, created a 3D sculpture of a dragon fly – the judges were so impressed by her artwork that they created a special award and a £25 cash prize.

Dimona Findolova, in Year 9, received a commendation for her intricate tree artwork. Victor Graciani-Hough, also in Year 9, detailed tree drawing was also praised by the judges. Vinicio Daniele, Amanda Amarteifio, Lucia Herring Lopez and Lily Andrews, all in Year 8, also received special commendations for their pieces.

Well done to all the pupils who worked hard to produce the fantastic selection of artwork.
